THE CONTENTS

Cemeterying With Hope contains five sections. The first chapter gives an enhanced definition of graveyards and introduces the reader to the many wonders of cemeteries. The second section shares a thought-provoking commentary on memorial expressions and provides pages so that the reader may record his own personal remembrances of a loved one. The third chapter is designed to comfort those who have parted with a child. The fourth section portrays inspirational epitaphs and uplifting testimonies that have been inscribed on tombstones. The fifth and final chapter has a Christian focus and offers thoughts concerning the importance of eternal preparation.

THE PURPOSES

Cemeterying With Hope was written with many purposes in mind. Among them were
1) to showcase Illinois cemeteries and to create new material for people who love graveyards
2) to forge an appreciation of cemeteries in those folks who think of them as mere burying grounds
3) to comfort those who are bereft
4) to bring awareness of the need for cemetery maintenance and restoration
5) to pay tribute to those who have gone before us; 6) to generate thought about what testimony the reader wants on his own gravestone
7) to bring enjoyment and pleasure to the reader.
